This little shell consumed my life for 3 months. It was fitted in Susan Khalje’s Couture class in Denver CO by Susan. The experience of sewing and learning with an expert in couture sewing and design was a joy for me. My confidence and knowledge soared. Very little of the garment is machine sewn. It is guipure lace backed with silk charmeuse and lined in silk crepe de chine. It is sewn with silk thread.

It looks wonderful but I bet it feels like pure heaven! I know you enjoy wearing it!
It is beautiful, and something you can wear many times, with many outfits. Congratulations. It must've been a real treat to work on this personally with Susan Khalje in her class.
A lovely work of art well worth the time, focus, and care involved. Don't you find that slowing down and enjoying the process brings a whole new level to your art form. I am really looking forward to seeing your next project.
Sewsister is right: EXQUISITE!
Well worth every hand stitched inch.
This is beautiful and a classic you can wear for many years.
I have been looking high and low for material like this to make my wedding dress. Any tips as to where I might find it? :)
I bought the lace and charmeuse at Allyns Fabric & Bridal Supplies Incorporated. 2306 E 6th Ave Denver, CO 80206 Denver Tel. +1 303.377.4969. It is an unbelievable fabric shop for wonderful bridal fabric...pure heaven!! Although I live north of Chicago, I was in Denver for the class.
