The Moulage, is from the Ecole Guerre-Lavigne system of pattern drafting, that I learned from my Paris-trained teacher. It is the foundation of this system, producing slopers to adjust commercial patterns, among other things.
After a series of measurements are taken, and calculations are done, we draft a patten that will fit like a second skin. I’ve never seen this method fail, from the draft for the 3 1/2-foot-tall gal, to the gal with the G-cup bust, to the gal with the 72″ hips.
I’m teaching this at Sew Fast Sew Easy in Manhattan, starting July 20. If you are interested, call them at (212) 268-4321.
I took this class last fall and cannot recommend it highly enough. If you want details, you can find my detailed review on patternreview.com, but the short take is this: every person in my class (and we had very different body shapes and fitting issues) had fun AND came away with a perfectly fitting bodice.
I took Kenneth's moulage class (and pant class) last fall as well with Elizabeth. Kenneth's synposis is very accurate. You will get accurate/fantastic results and the fact that you have Kenneth as your teacher is ++++.
When I win the lottery, I will be sure to sign up immediately! I have wanted to learn about the moulage technique for some time now...
