Hi All, I have some projects which I am dying to share and get feedback on, but I am struggling on how to do the above. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance

Cropping photos
Hi, Qugirl35, and welcome. I look forward to seeing photos of your projects. I'm not sure where you're having trouble with the process. I appreciate that you want to minimize the photo size in order to minimize upload/download times.
My understanding is that you must crop your photos using software on your computer before you try to attach them to a message in the Gatherings forum. There's no capability on this site for editing photos. Other changes must also be made, like rotating the photo if you've taken it in portrait format instead of landscape format, so the photo won't appear sideways. I can use iPhoto or Photoshop Elements on my Apple iBook to crop photos and to make some other changes, then save the cropped photo, and select it from my photo files when I want to attach it to a post. Also, there is another free system, available online, called Shackle, which allows me to re-size photos to make them quicker to upload. Resizing is not the same as cropping, though.
In the FAQ section of the forum, few if any details are given on how to post photos, but there is a statement to the effect that, if a message attachment is too large, it will be reduced by the system to a more manageable size.
Maybe if you tell us what kind of computer you have, and what your specific difficulties are, others will let you know what software they use to crop or resize, and will be better able to guide you through the process.
Joan
