Liechty’s crotch altering method

LindaB | Posted in Fitting on

I’m having failure after failure with the crotch altering method in Liechty’s Fitting and Pattern alteration pp 140-147.  Front and back each seem to work on their own, but it’s a no go when I put them together.  Also how do I know whether to add length at crotch or at waist?

I also had problem with the two pieces (front and back) lining up! Over a two week period I made four different muslins. Ready to throw in the towel, but the last one actually fit. So my advice is to keep at it. Tweak it until you achieve a nice curve in the crotch area. Good luck!
