Hi everyone,
Does anyone know where I can get buttons for jeans I am making. I’d like something similar to the ones they put on Levis. It looks like maybe a special tool is needed to put them in. I only need the one button to button the waist, but it might be nice to know where to get rivots too.
Thanks,
Sun

http://www.agreatnotion.com This is a Canadian site (ships internationally), but has so many notions, books, tools, gadgets, presser feet...it is just amazing. They will send out a free catalog so you can peruse at your leisure. They ship right away and are highly dependable (they even call you if there is a delay on shipping your order due to lack of stock.) I recommend this site to everyone, and sometimes like to just flip through the catalog to see the new tools that are out there to make my life easier.
Your local fabric store should carry the buttons (you can set them with a hammer) But the rivets can sometimes be hard to find the above page has them though.
There are many rivet setters and punch tools out there, but honestly a hammer and the die kit included with any of you grommets, rivets, buttons, or snaps are just as good, and if you are not going to use it regularly, don't waste your money.
That place looks great! Thanks,
Sun
you are most welcome
surya,
I haven't had the need for this type of button lately. I use to buy them at the fabric store in the notions area......
