I am curious as to how much to charge for services. An acquaintance would like me to make her a simple dress without much alteration from a pattern, she is buying the pattern and fabric. I used to do this, but have not sewed for a customer for years so I don’t have any idea what the current rate is. I have checked with a couple of local fabric stores and they are no help at all.
I would appreciate any ideas, even a range of prices. Thanks

Prices vary around the country. Here in rural northwestern WI, I charge $20/hour.

The worst possible client is a friend, the second worst is an acquaintance! Get a contract, it will save time and stress.
