silver thimbles

Thimblebt | Posted in General Sewing Info on

I would like to buy a new silver thimble.  Can you suggest a vendor or web site that sells them.  Thanks.  Betty

Oooh!  You need to see episode 1207 of Lapquilting with Georgia Bonesteel!  She goes to the workshop of Tommie Jane Lane and learns how thmbles are made.  Here is the website for the thimbles:

If you are thinking of using a silver thimble to use, rather than for a collector item, it would be a good idea to check it first.  I have found that silver thimbles are too soft to use to sew with.  There may be a mix of silver and ??? for a usable thimble, though.

thanks for your reply.  Yes, my old thimble is now very soft from so many years of use.  Betty, Thimblebt
