Hi,
I have looked on the Patternreview website and I have looked in the Gatherings archives and cannot find any info on this issue so I am hoping someone can give me some advice.
I have a Bernina Activa 240. I love all of the features, especially the knee lift. However, often when I begin to sew a seam, I get a “nest” of thread at the bottom at the beginning of the seam. But it doesn’t always happen. Has anyone else had this problem with a Bernina? How did you address/resolve it?
I try starting with short thread tails, long thread tails and it still happens. I try starting with the thread tails to the left and to the right and it still happens.
What am I doing wrong? Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks!

Did you try holding your threads when you started?
Tjsews,
I have had many Bernina's and you HAVE TO hold the thread tails for the first few sritches or you can also turn the flyweel once or twice by hand and then start sewing. The reason for this is the CB-hook system Bernina uses.
Thank you for your advice....I mistakenly posted twice...and I got the same advice from other posters who own Berninas so that must be it. Something so simple! I didn't have to worry about this with my previous machine (not a Bernina) but I will make sure to do this go forward. Thanks again!
