Hi: I have recently inheirited some weight mates, in three sizes, they have three thumb tacks around the outside. I am sort of afraid to use them, will the tacks harm my material? Any info I have about them says you should use rotary cutters with them.
Any advice?

Weight Mates
Those were the first weights that I bought and I wish that I could find more of them. They are my favorite weights. I've never found the tack ends to do any damage to any of my fabrics. And I guess that I should say that I rarely work with very delicate fabrics. I find that the tack ends help the pattern to stay undistorted, especially when fabrics have some bulk; instead of the weights sinking into the fabric the tack ends poke through the pattern tissue and hold everything undistorted. If you every decide that you don't want them I'd gladly "inheret" them. And I'd be grateful for anyone that knows of a source for more of these.

Weight Mates
Hi, I bought a set of 6 of these weigfhts because my mother swears by weights - and went online to learn more about them. I think that I will stick with my pins. If you'd like, I will gladly resell mine. Thanks.

Can they be turned upside down so the prongs don't poke into the fabric?
