My little ones were sick, so I hadn’t planned on them dressing up. Halloween morning, however, Chloe reminded me that she REALLLLLLLY wanted to be the Little Mermaid, even if we were just staying home. I couldn’t run out to get any additional supplies without dragging them along with me, so we worked with what I could find at home. A white shirt, outfitted with some sparkly left-over fabric, a skirt that was just handed down by a friend’s daughter that very day, and a big skein of acrylic yarn, and we were set. The longest part of the project, by far, was the hair. I crocheted an open weave beanie, then began adding “hair” to it 4 strands at a time. It took FOREVER! And… she refused to wear it for more than just a few photos. Oh well…..she now has another addition to her dress up bin!
