Threads Halloween Costume Contest 2010

Princess Toadstool Halloween Costume

My costume on the form.

This Halloween my boyfriend suggested that we go as Mario and Princess Toadstool from Nintendo.  So being an overacheiver I had to do it up right.  I began with a Vogue Men’s Vest Pattern that I had used previously and tailored to fit my body.  I used this to make the jacke and just manipulated the pattern to acheive the design of my sketch.  The skirt was just a plain tiered ruffled skirt worn over a hoop skirt I made from wire and tubing I bought at Home Depot.  We had a blast and looked GREAT doing it.  So wonderful to see everyone’s creations and hope you enjoy mine!

Dress is totally awesome, but I also hope you'll consider a matte and frame for that delightful sketch - how artsy!

My first reaction was actually to that phenomenal sketch. I agree with the above comment; frame it! Good times.
