My daughter wanted to be a vampire for Halloween. This one was hard for me because my daughter wanted to design what it looked like. She wanted it to be short (she doesn’t like to wear pants or even a long skirt). I made a basic peasant dress for under dress and for the bodice I drafted the pattern my self. I took by daughter’s chest measurement and her waist the the lenght. I sewed my pieces together and reliazed I forgot to add seam allowance. So the bodice took shape into a chid’s corset because I had to slice it to add more fabric. I also lined the bodice with fleece to help keep her warm. The cape I used the red riding hood cape pattern from fleecefun.com. I knew that her costume was pretty nondescript and it would be hard for people to know what she was and so we played it up with the makeup.
