Sewing is my art. My joy is to create something new that may give another as much pleasure to wear as it brought me in the creation.
This year a granddaughter wanted a Jellyfish Costume. It is my original design created from picture, measurements and imagination for my petite granddaughter.
She chose a textured sheer ombre fabric in aqua to teal color. I also used a multicolored sheer mesh print fabric, textured sheer irridescent fabric, irridescent mesh tubing, plastic spaghetti strings, craft beads, wire, stiff craft interfacing and some additional sewing notions.
The costume consists of wide Jellyfish Mantle and a long sheath dress. The hat/mantle was constructed of craft materials and airfilled packing pillows which create the rounded shape and covered with irridescent fabric sewn to mesh tubing. The ankle length sheath dress of sheer texture ombre is lined with aqua polyester, has raglan sleeves and cotton rib knit neckline.
Tentacles of the mesh tubing, plastic spaghetti strands and spiral cut tendrills of all 3 sheer fabrics trim both the mantle and the dress for a full body Jellyfish look.
i love this dress
