New Simplicity patterns

1944

In their Winter/Holiday collection, Simplicity introduces a Threads ensemble along with other great designs.

Threads’ pattern 1944 has two jacket variations, a top, pants, and skirt. The jacket, available in two lengths, has raglan sleeves and two neckline options—a topstitched band or a fashionable ruffle. The blouse has three-quarter length cut-on sleeves and interesting front seams running from the neckline to the side seams. The A-line skirt is mid-calf length and perfect to wear with boots. The pants are slightly flared and have a side seam zipper.

Cynthia Rowley’s pattern 1939 is a statement-making dress. The loose fitting bodice has a fabric tie neckline with a slit opening. The full skirt, available in two lengths, is gathered into an exaggerated yoke giving the dress shape and original style.  Make this dress sleeveless or choose from two sleeve variations.

Pattern 1941 is the newest addition to the Amazing Fit Collection. This princess seam blouse pattern includes separate pieces for bust cup sizes A through DD. Choose from three sleeve lengths and add a pocket or front ruffles for added interest.

Khaliah Ali’s pattern 1945 is a sportswear ensemble available in misses’ and woman’s sizes. The included tops are: a short sleeve T-shirt with a cowl neckline, a draped front cardigan, and a wrapped blouse with gathered front shoulder seams and three-quarter length sleeves. Pair these with the comfortable, yet stylish, elastic waist skirt or pants.

Check out these and the complete Winter/Holiday Simplicity collection.

I like a number of the Amazing Fit patterns. As a 74-year-old seamstress, I appreciate craftsmanship. I also appreciate ladies who sew because we've developed the courage to accept how our bodies have changed over the many years. Great bravery is required, trust me.
