It’s time to start sewing your entries for the Independent Pattern Company Alliance’s (IPCA) annual fashion sewing competition! This year’s contest theme is “Party Like a Rock Star”, and contestants are challenged to sew an outfit that interprets the theme to show everyone how you would “rock” a party. Only garments made from IPCA member company patterns are allowed, so head on over to PatternCompanies.com to view the current list of member pattern companies and peruse their pattern collections. The competition is now open and accepting entries until May 1, 2014.

After you’ve sewn your party-rocking outfit, submit photos to the pattern company whose patterns you used. Each IPCA pattern company holds a round of preliminary judging to select up to three semi-finalists from the field of entries by May 5. Photos of these semi-finalist garments will be posted on the IPCA Facebook page for People’s Choice voting. People’s Choice finalists will be announced between May 15 and May 30, and the winners will be announced June 10. The IPCA members will then vote on the People’s Choice winners to determine grand prize, second prize, and third prize winners, which will be announced July 1.
