fitting pants to remove xtra fabric in front crotch
Friends, my muslin for the pattern ‘Thalia Pants’ by La Fred turned out very well except for excess fabric bunching in the front crotch when i sit down. What’s the best way to fix the bunching without ruining the soft pleating effect of the pants? (The fashion fabric will be medium weight rayon with Ambiance lining). Thanx, organdy.

You've reinforced the very reason to make a sample fashion to establish fit.

I think you will find that this is part of the design when you have the extra fabric from the pleats. Try this - sit down and pin out what you think is excessive excess and then try to stand up straight. I think you will see that it doesn't work. There is no way to get rid of it and not have a lap full of fabric.

I would try pinching out the fullness, then opening the inner leg seam to the knee and sliding the front pant leg forward by the pinch-out amount. By doing this you have removed the excess fabric.
