Hardware for ascots

ecansell | Posted in General Discussion on

Help!  I do a custom sewing business from my home.  I was just asked to make an ascot for a wedding and need a source for the hardware (hook, loop and adjusting buckle).  Thank you.

    Hi, Bunky

I'm guessing that bow-tie hardware is similar, if not identical, to ascot hardware...if so, you can get a bow-ite set including hook, eye, and 7/8-in. slide buckle from Newark Dressmaker's Supply at 800-736-6783 (PO Box 20730, 6473 Ruch Road, Lehigh Valley, PA 18002); two sets are $0.75, item # B10. I don't know if they have a minimum order or not...but their catalog is free, and it's a good one.

Of course, there's always the option of searching out an ascot or bow-tie in a thrift store or nearby closet and salvaging the hardware you need, which might be a faster route.

Good luck, and let us know if this does the job!

Thank you, David, for the hardware info.  I'll give them a call.  Bunky
