Hemming Sweaters

Is it possible to hem a sweater? I just bought a new sleeveless sweater that is too long and would like to have it professionally hemmed.

    Dear Suzy,
How is the hem of the sweater finished off? Do you want it to look exactly the same when it is hemmed as it does now? I would suggest taking it to the alterations tailor and ask them if they can do it. If they say "yes" be sure to ask them to explain how they will shorten it and what it will look like when finished. They probably won't be able to duplicate the original hem finish exactly, but they may be able to suggest an alternate method that would be close.

*Thanks, Joyce! I appreciate the reply and will proceed!
