Inseam at bottom of pants

AnneAudette | Posted in Fitting on

Hi:

I’m just about done working on my test pants.  The grain lines are hanging straight.  The side seams are perpendicular to the floor.

I’ve noticed at both inseams at the R+L back hem (unfinished hem–I cut the hem allowance off–the unfinished edge skims the top of my foot) there is a wedge of fabric curling forward.  The widest part of the wedge is at the bottom of the inseam.  It’s 1-1.5 inches wide.  The narrowest part of the wedge is about 10″ to 12″ up the inseam.  (Meaning the wedge of fabric disappears at that point. ) Does this mean therr is too much fabric along the R+L back inseams?  Not enough fabric at the R+L front inseams?

Help!

Thanks,

Anne

Were you going for tapered-leg pants but using a straight-leg or flared-leg pattern?

I determined with all the adjusting I did, coupled with the fabric added at the side seams, both back grain lines are off!

      Thanks,

      Anne
