I just wanted to say hello and I’m new here. I’ve been sewing for 35 years now. I learned in Jr. High Home Ec and I haven’t stopped since. I have two little boys 5 and almost 2. I’m a stay at home mom now, but in my previous life I was a Home Ec teacher for 9 years and loved it.
Now My question: I saw in the recent issue of threads they were taking entries to the 2008 Simplicity/Threads Creativity contest. Where do I get the info on that?

The mention of the contest in the reader's closet section of Threads, says that Hancock Fabrics is a sponsor; it also says to enter online at ThreadsMagazine.com or Simplicity.com by July 31, 2008. However, I searched the Threads home page for mention of the contest and couldn't find it, as you apparently couldn't either. I did a search, but got nothing but the reference to the contest in the current issue. If you go to simplicity.com, and scroll down the page, you'll see a heading "Contests and Events" and underneath that, "Enter the Simplicity Creative Fashion Contest" and "Click here". That'll take you to the info.Weren't some of the garments in that reader's closet article just great? I especially like the white coat on page 71, and the jacket on page 72.If you enter, I hope you'll keep us posted on what you make, pattern you use, etc.
I will try and do that. I don't know if I can get anything competition worthy by July, but I will check it out and see if it might be possible. I will keep you postedl. Thanks.
