The overall design of this garment was inspired by Rosemary Eichorn’s technique of fabric collage. The background fabric is natural linen. Various home deco fabrics were used for the embellishments by cutting out the flowers, birds, butterflies, etc. and sewing them in an arrangement that flowed. The designs were enhanced with metallic threads, beads, lace, ribbon, trim pieces, and satin stitching. Covered cording lines the neck edge and moves into satin stitched edges down the fronts and hemline of the jacket. The jacket pattern itself was my own since it needed to be very plain without darts and seams. The lining is a silky flowered fabric with triangular cut-outs along the inside back neckline.

Thank you so much for the nice comment. I think it took me about 2 weeks, after I gathered up the stash of flowers, butterflies and birds. IN some ways that was the hardest part. Pat
This is wonderful -- so inventive and fluid, all harmonious. Thanks for sharing it via Threads! I will have to look up that book.
