This is another set made for my daughter. This outfit features a gorgeous chocolate brown 100% linen fabric paired with a gorgeous retro inspired floral print from Amy Butler’s Charm collection. This set is one of my original designs. The basic babydoll top is a favorite of mine. I added brown and white gingham trim and sweet petals along with some wonderful appliques to dress the top up. The bodice is lined in the same fabric as the outside. It closes at the back with fabric covered buttons that I made. All the petals were cut and are faced and then gathered a bit as well. I think the petals add such a sweet touch! The linen pants also have appliques, brown and white gingham trim added on to dress them up. And instead of petals, I added a band of the fabric at the hem of the pants. I think this design has an element of whimsy, but also some sweet sophistication to it. I love dressing my little ones in linen(I have made my son quite some things with linen as well, but no pictures handy to upload!) and I love making them unique, one of a kind outfits as well. Linen can be very “adult”, especially in a chocolate brown color, but I think combining it with the lovely lime green and brown floral and all the applique and other sweet details definitely resulted in a set fit for a little girl.

I added the petals to the baby doll top, just to make the set a bit whimsical. Brown linen can be so grown up...but I think the petals along with the appliques I added make it girly and fun! Once again, I added ribbon along the hemline, just above the petals. I am a sucker for ribbon!
