I wanted to make a moto jacket for the cooler spring days/evenings, and was inspired to make one because I’m seeing them everywhere but didn’t like the prices. Also, I didn’t want leather or denim, and found the perfect thing in my stash — a fabric of unknown content but a great spring weight and with a nice “sanded” or “sueded” finish. To get the body I wanted, I interfaced the whole jacket with a lightweight fusible interfacing. This pattern was a challenge because I’ve never done topstitching before, and there were 5 zippers (front, pockets, sleeves) with 3 different insertion techniques. I made several fitting adjustments — full bust adjustment in a princess seam, narrow back, forward shoulder and sloping shoulder. It’s a fun jacket that goes with just about everything and can be worn virtually every day!

It's hard to believe, by seeing the perfection, that you have never done topstitching before!!! Absolutely fabulous!!!!! And you wear it SO well! Truly great job!!!
Thank you, user-2655477 and kneedlez, so much. That's so nice to hear!
Thank you, SewingSadie! Sewing is so often such an individual pursuit that it's hard to gauge how you're doing. I really appreciate your comments!!
You did a very impressive job on your topstitching, as well as all those zippers!! Congratulations.
