Since our Renaissance Fair and Halloween occur at the same time of year, we read the adventures of Robin Hood and my son decided he wanted to be the famous outlaw for both events. The pants are of linen and are from a simple loose fitting pattern. I altered and graded a toddler sized McCalls pattern I had on hand for the shirt, which is also made of linen. I made my own patterns for the hat, gambeson and archers hood, using sueded microfiber upholstery fabric and general instructions from online. I made a toggle button closure for the hood by cutting, sanding and sanding a piece of dowel and a loop of elastic. The bracers/gauntlets were made from scrap thin leather, interfacing and a felt lining. The belt was a thrift store find.
