I found McCall’s Pattern 7184 and was instantly inspired to create a female, retro look inspired by the iconic comic book villain, The Riddler. Opting for the graphic quality of solid colors, I choose a lightweight green cotton for the skirt and tie. The purple question marks are all hand stenciled, hand cut and then were Heat Bonded to the hem of the skirt.

While the focus is on the skirt, I also made the shirt, bandana, tie and petticoat that you can see peeking out from under the hem. I also painted the shoes to match the dress. The toes of the shoes read ‘Riddle Me This …. Riddle Me That.’
