This costume was made using Simplicity #4139. Instead of the long skirt on the dress, my granddaughter requested a short, tulle skirt, with black and green tulle. I also changed the ties on the “belt” to lace through button holes; the instructions were to have thread the ribbon through hooks. However, I knew it would be easier to have the ribbon “permanently” tied, rather than having to lace and tie it every time the costume was worn. I also serged the seam attaching the skirt to the bodice to cut down on the bulk of several layers of fabric. I love how the costume turned out!
