For this challenge, the Project Runway All Star designers were asked to create two pieces that worked together as a ready-to-wear outfit or apart as separates. In addition, they needed to sew a fashion-forward look for a second model, all in one day with a $300 budget. The winning designer will have their ready-to-wear look sold on QVC as part of their G.I.L.I. line.
QVC host Lisa Robertson and fashion designer and correspondent George Kotsiopoulos were this week’s guest judges. With only six designers left, everyone received a critique. The top scores were awarded to Helen, Dmitry, and Sonjia, which left Fabio, Jay, and Michelle in the bottom. Helen’s design had a strong and modern color combination, but it wasn’t fully clear how the looks worked together. Neither of Dmitry’s looks seemed fashion forward in Isaac’s mind. However, George thought Dmitry hit the nail on the head with this challenge and created two very versatile designs. Sonjia, once again, brought smiles to the judges’ faces. Alyssa absolutely loved her outfits, Isaac thought they were gorgeous, and Lisa said they were stunning.
While Fabio went through the trouble of dyeing his own fabric this week, Isaac found his pieces to be slightly irrelevant. George agreed that his dress just didn’t seem fashion forward. Jay’s critique wasn’t much better. His choice of color was pleasing to Lisa, but the construction and cohesion were definitely lacking. Finally, Michelle chose a print that very few women would wear and made this the focal point of both outfits. Needless to say, the judges were not impressed. Ultimately, Jay was out and Sonjia’s ready-to-wear designs are now available at QVC.

I don’t know how they do it. Not only were the designers given just one day for this challenge, but they had to create at least three pieces, have two fittings, and take time out from their day to hang out in Times Square to watch Alyssa, Zanna, Isaac, and Georgina ring the NASDAQ closing bell. Talk about a challenge!
Which ready-to-wear look do you think deserved to be sold on QVC? Did you agree with the judges’ decisions? Whose look would you want to wear the most? Please share your thoughts below!
Can't believe I'm saying this but, I think Helen should have won. Not a fan of Helen's but I feel her look was the best. I think the winning look was matronly while Helen's black dress was too, it at least had some appeal. Her ready-to-wear was youthful even if I HAVE seen it before.
I don't know why Michelle is still there, that abomination she sent down the runway looked like someone had stolen their grandmothers curtains (balloon valance included) and ran with it. I am SO disappointed with Michelle this season, I was one of her biggest fan's but she is not the same designer she was in her season. It's almost as though she is TRYING to get sent home. I think she may get her wish soon.
So far, I think Dmitry and Sonja will be in the final three.
I predict Dimitri, Sonjia, and Helen will be the final three. I am not a fan of Michelle's work either in her original season or in this All Stars season. However, I think her onscreen presence has been insightful and supportive. I appreciate that.
