The original idea for this Christmas and wedding attendee dress came from a preview of Chanel's 2010 Cruise Line Collection which featured a scarf-dress and stole. I teach and practice yoga and wanted something to show off my sculpted arms, so opted for Hilary Duff's fully-lined dress with its shapely collar, less waif-like than the inspiratiion piece. The collar and hem are both made of metallic fabric. My quilting journey prepared me to hand sew the lining to the metallic pieces, creating as nice a finish inside as out. I doubled the size of the chiffon wrap, added beads at the large arm openings to downsize the sheer volume, and sprayed on Tulip fabric glitter to add shimmer to the plain charcoal fabric. To complete the ensemble I carried over the beads to the shoes, hand stitiching a dozen to each shoe top

(Bird of Paradise happens to be one of my favorite yoga poses, so whether it was intentional or not I got it!) I shall check out Lanvin and Erte. As I get more comfortable with posts I shall add back views and full views. Thank you both very much for your input.

Would love to see a back view to see if you accentuated what must be a very toned posterior shoulder girdle considering your sculpted arms. Also would love to see the shoes and a picture of the dress without the wrap. It has a real "Tah Dah!" (imagine a trumpet signaling your appearance on stage) quality--like an exotic bird of paradise.
