Enter the Simplicity Halloween Costume Contest
So what will it be this year? The Mad Hatter or Alice? Sherlock Holmes? The ever-popular pirate captain? A Civil-War era Scarlet O'Hara type? Just about anything your sewing skills and your imagination can come up with, Simplicity has a costume pattern to suit. And this year Simplicity has teamed with Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores to offer a Halloween Costume Contest for creations based on current Simplicity patterns.
What you need to do to enter
Prizes will be awarded in categories for babies and toddlers, children, adults, group costumes of two or more, as well as a category for pet costumes. An entry form and complete rules are available online at Simplicity.com. You can enter online, via mail or fax.
To win, you must send in a color photograph or electronic image of the costume or costumes and complete an entry form, including the number of the Simplicity pattern you used. Entries must be received by November 19. Twenty-five finalists will be selected and asked to submit their costumes for the judges to examine.
What you can win
One $1,000 grand prize will be awarded to a Best Costume chosen by the judges. Five $500 first prizes and five $250 second prizes will be awarded each of the categories for humans. One $250 prize will be awarded for the Best Costume for a Pet.
