aamassther aamassther writes: Jodiebob, look at the Brother Innovis 40, it's the same machine. Most Babylock sewing machines are made by Brother. I believe it's 399. It's a great machine, I convinced a friend to buy one, very easy to use and a great stitch. Especially for the price. I traded my Bernina for a Brother and like it much better.

Is there anyone who has used either of these models that can give me some information about these 2 sewing machines. I would much appreciate it thanks!!

PersnicketyStitches PersnicketyStitches writes: I own one and it is a wonderful machine. I actually bought 2...one for home and one for my beach house. I own the Babylock Ellisimo and the Babylock BMP8 and use Sophia when my other machines are busy OR to take to classes. She is one amazing little machine for the $$$$$. I can digitize a design on my computer and send it to Sophia and she stitches it out like a breeze. Of course, you are limited to a 4x4 field.

I have talked several of my friends into purchasing this machine. It gives them a chance to use machine embroidery and have a sewing machine, as well. If they decide they want MORE machine...they can buy another Babylock and use this as a 'back-up' or take it to classes.

I like the idea of being able to do embroidery, and my local dealer has a good sale going on this model. I realize it is the low-end of embroidery machines. It will be my only machine, and I'd use it mostly for home decor projects, at least until I get some grandchildren!
