When it comes to bulletproof clothing, what comes to mind first? Is it the military flak jacket or the stiff bulletproof vest that’s so common with police shows?
Unfortunately those in the military and police force are not the only people that need protecting from bullets. There are international ambassadors, presidents of many countries, and even many powerful wealthy people just to name a few. For those who need protection, but also don’t want to sacrifice style, there’s now an option from a tailor in Bogota, Columbia named Miguel Caballero.
This video profile made by Vice magazine on the “Armored Armani” highlights the maker and the place where the clothing is made. The garments include lightweight shirts, blazers, windbreakers, ties, and more. The seemingly flimsy fabric stops bullets and the tailor is willing to prove it–by shooting the reporter and point-blank range while wearing one of his garments. It turns out that he shoots all of his employees so they believe in what they’re making.
